Alano's Shtat Kennel History

I acquired my first Great Dane in 1980. His name was Hent, he was a fawn puppy of Full della Madonna del Viaggio (owner - V.Romanyuk), an imported Italian Great Dane. The puppy was presented to me by my father, and it was a fabulous gift! I was a schoolgirl at that time. I spent money that I was given for school breakfast and dinners to go with Hent to different dog shows all over the country. The geography of my trips was broad enough: Moscow, Pushkin, Podol'sk, Tallinn, Riga, Novgorod, Borovichi.

It was a wonderful dog, very smart and clever.
The aim of our trips was not only dog shows: we spent a lot of time for trips with agitational team of Pskov Municipal Club of Working Dog-Breeding of DOSAAF. We were performed everywhere, we took part in various concerts and celebrations. Hent was rather a bright person in our creative collective. It wouldn't be an exaggertation to say that modern agility tricks were too simple for him.
Buying my first Great Dane almost by accident, I fell in love into this breed that combined royal appearance with soul greatness.
My first Dane became a father of the first Great Dane litter in the city with official documents. My fawn Hent and brindle Osta were bred by Pskov Club of Working Dog-Breeding and that was their A-litter that became the foundation of Great Danes in the city!

Two decades passed since then.
From 1990 puppies that were born in my house had a prefix "doma DAK". The mother of these puppies were black Glasha. (Nonhill-Egmus (Riga) ๕ Roch-Odillia (Podol'sk)), whom I love and

remember till this very day! Maybe she wasn't a star of the shows, didn't get anything better then "very good", but she was a great friend, an excellent working dog who prevented several serious crimes. I'm happy that some dogs from the first litter "doma DAK" (Glasha's puppies) are still alive!
I acquired some nice experience working first at Pskov Municipal

Club of Working Dog-Breeding DOSAAF and later being Chairman of Pskov Breeders Association "CROSS". Selection work was conducted not only with Great Danes but also with many other breeds, it taught me not to "forgive" Great Danes some allegedly specific Great Dane exterior problems, aspire to go away from them, and at the same time "too see forest after the trees". The best experience comes when you look at

an excellent from all points of view, anatomically perfect dog - no matter what breed it is and what country it is from!
In 1999 an FCI kennel Alano's Shtat was officially registered. It's very young. But we have 20 years of working and showing experience, deep knowledge of selection laws, experiments and unlimited devotion to the breed.
I don't work alone now. We have a small collective of friends and colleagues who see the same Great Dane ideal as I do, who work with the same gusto as I do, who are owners of our common dogs and whom I call with a great pleasure our team.
