Tower Gremyachaya

Click to enlarge "In summer 7033 (year 1525) prince Vasily Ivanovich ordered his clerk Misyura Munekhin to build a stone tower on Gremyachaya hill over Pskov river on the steep and on the same summer they built a hiding-place".
From this tower through Pskov river there was a fortification with Upper grates that locked way through the river. Tower Gremyachaya is one of the most beautiful tower of medieval Pskov. A lot of local legends are connected with it. The legends speak about an enchanted queen who languished in captivity, about innumerable treasure and about evil spirits...
